Taiwan requires home quarantine for travelers entering from the Schengen Area, UK, Ireland, Dubai

Taiwan’s Central Epidemic Control Command announced that effective 14 March 2020, travelers entering Taiwan from the 26 European countries in the Schengen Area, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Dubai (including transit) must undergo home quarantine for 14 days. This is in response to a large number of new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in Europe. Taiwan issued a travel alert advising citizens to avoid non-essential travel to these countries.

Taiwan previously also mandated the 14-day home quarantine for travelers entering from South Korea, Italy, and Iran. Earlier last month, Taiwan banned Chinese citizens and foreign citizens with travel history of China from entering the country and suspended over 70% of flights to and from China.

Taiwan confirmed its first COVID-19 case on 21 January. The number of cases is now 53.

Diplomatic Missions in Taiwan

Below is a list of diplomatic missions set up by foreign governments in Taiwan, in English alphabetical order of country name by region. States that don’t officially recognize the ROC (Taiwan) operate de facto embassies styled as cultural and trade offices. These offices are usually staffed by professional diplomats without the official diplomatic titles. Some offices have the authority to grant entry visa into their respective countries or offer consular services. Contact an embassy/consulate in a nearby city outside of Taiwan (e.g. Hong Kong, Manila, Seoul, Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore) or your foreign ministry if your country is not represented.
